Mohandas Karamchard Gandhi

Mohandas Karamchard Gandhi was born on October 2 1869 into a family of merchants. Breaking with caste tradition he went to England to study law when he was 19 years of age. His fellow students shunned him because he was an Indian. It was in London where he read Henry David Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience", which inspired his principle of non violence. He returned to India in 1891. But two years later he left again to South Africa where he was to stay for 20 years. He was the country's first "coloured" lawyer to be admitted to the bar.

Deeply troubled by the country's racism towards Indians, he founded the Natal Indian Congress to agitate for Indian rights in 1894.

Gandhi was the pre-eminent political n spiritual leader of India during the Indian Independence movement.

The name "mahatma" means "great soul", and his philosophy of peaceful resistance is widely credited with having forced the peaceful end of the British rule of India in 1947, the year before his death. On January 30 1948 India's "Father of the Nation" Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated, he was killed by a fellow Hindu.

He is officially honored in India as Father of the Nation and his birthday is commemorated as a national holiday.

The Difference between Hindu and Muslim

There are a few beliefs that Hindu and Muslims are the same but they are very different.
Firstly the Hindu's believe in a one of a kind polytheistic religion which means that they believe in the existence of many Gods while the Muslim's believe in one God. Secondly the Hindu's considers everything living and non living, to be divine and sacred, while the Muslim's beliefs are that Allah is the personal name of the One true God. The Hindu's believe that the purpose of life is to realize that we are apart of God and we can return to him, while the Muslim's believe that the purpose of life is to submit to the will of Allah and enjoy heaven jannat as a reward from him. Lastly the Hindu's believe in selfless acts and thoughts as well as devotions to God help one to be reborn at a higher level, once you are born again, while the Muslim's believe fast during the month of Ramadan the month of that Muhammad received the Qur'an from Allah.

These are a few of the differences that differentiate the the religions and beliefs of the Hindu's and Muslim's.

The novel Pride and Prejudice is a very interesting but drawn out book in my opinion. There are a lot of characters in this book that bring it to life like Mr and Mrs Bennett adn their five children. Elizabeth and her sharp tongue and intelligence brings gives the book a lot of spice. Mr Darcy having a lot of pride gives it a edge also. This book brings out that there are a lot of people that are full of a lot o fpride and prejudice. A clear example of this is miss Bingley. She shows inordinate detest to Elizabeth background and family roots showing a lot of prejudice because of her higher class background.

Play "School Bag"

This play was extremely good. It held my attention throughout the whole thing. Usually in plays once in a while it may loose my attention but this kept my attention at a constant. The areas in which the dramam got really intense was really great. the stage setting was good it went according to play. the characters were well in character they played their parts very well. the sound system wasn't 100% the sounds were up and down and very deffective which should have been dealt with. The play spoke and illustrated a lot about some seriously real problems that are affecting teenagers in schools all over. Situations like drugs, sex, peer pressure, and even love. These situations occur in students life everyday in school and they dont know how to deal wit the problems when they occur they lie, they cheat, they join gangs thinking it would help without knowing it make things worse to deal with. This play help put all that into perspective it gives a lot of ways in which not to handle these situations. The play really touched me to know that there are people that are out there being troubled by different trials in life and need help and is afraid to speak out. The custume in the play was very real it was realistic and potrays everything that occurs it was very interesting. The play on a whole was very interesting to watch and it was very touching and heart changing. It just lets you know bringing people down, critisizing and judging people doesnt help anything. Understanding people and their differences would help sitting down and talking and listening really helps make a difference. This play potrays all that is needed to be learnt and that things and people shouldnt be judged on what is being seen on the outside but whats truly on the inside.

She defends herslef and alll women in those days that couldnt find the courage to defend themselves in fear of their men living in the household. Beatrice wasn't afraid to say when Benedick was wrong and was not afraid to tell him what she thought about him even if it was insultive.
